Have bees but aren't sure what you're seeing—or what you should do next?
A Bee Great beekeeper will come to your property and inspect your hives with you. We'll look at what is happening inside the colonies, talk through what we see, and help you identify the most important next steps.
This is a one-time educational and assessment visit. It is ideal for beekeepers who want experienced help evaluating their own hives without committing to an ongoing management service.
What We'll Do
During your visit, we may evaluate:
- Overall colony strength and condition
- Brood pattern and evidence of queen activity
- Food stores and available space
- Colony population
- Signs of swarming or queen problems
- Pest and Varroa concerns
- Equipment or hive-setup issues
- Seasonal management needs
- Other concerns you have about your colonies
Most importantly, we'll explain what we're seeing and why it matters, so you have a clearer idea of what to do next.
Who Is This For?
A site visit may be a good fit if:
- You've taken a beekeeping class but want help applying what you've learned
- You already have hives and aren't confident about their condition
- Your colonies are behaving differently than you expected
- You've been keeping bees for a year or two and want a second opinion
- You've inherited or acquired hives and aren't sure where to begin
- You're trying to decide whether you want to continue managing your bees yourself
- You simply want an experienced beekeeper to look through your colonies with you
What Happens After the Visit?
We'll discuss the next steps we recommend based on what we find.
For some beekeepers, that may simply mean making a few changes and continuing on their own. Others may decide they would benefit from additional education or ongoing assistance from Bee Great.
There is no requirement to purchase additional services after the visit.
Important Information
The $100 fee covers the site visit and hive assessment. Bees, equipment, treatments, replacement colonies, and other supplies are not included.
Because honey bee colonies are living systems, Bee Great cannot guarantee colony survival or a particular outcome following an inspection. Recommendations are based on the conditions observed at the time of the visit.
After purchasing, Bee Great will contact you to arrange a mutually convenient appointment.
