BEGINNER BEEKEEPING CLASS:

Want to be a beekeeper but don't know where to start? The Bee Great beginner beekeeping school is for you!

Our next class will take place at the Allen County Fairgrounds in Fort Wayne, IN. March 15, 2025, from 9:00 AM - 12:30 PM (Lunch will be provided around noon).

You get a beginner beekeeping kit which includes a bottom board, 10 frame brood box, 10 frames with plasticell foundation, an inner cover, and a telescoping outer cover. Bees are NOT included. However, by attending the bee school, you will be eligible to buy a nuc of bees from Bee Great.  The hive is already assembled and painted, so you're ready to get started as soon as your bees arrive, which is typically by the first week of June but may be sooner depending on weather in the spring.

We will also have a drawing for a FREE nuc of bees at the class!

Confused? Don't worry, we'll teach you everything from the ground up about the hive included with the school. You'll also receive a 10% discount towards the purchase of all your beekeeping supplies like a smoker, hive tool, bee suit, etc.

We'll start with a thorough description of the parts of the hive. Then we'll talk honey bee anatomy and behavior. We'll cover bee installation in the hive, how to use a smoker, and we'll share a calendar of steps to take throughout the year as a beekeeper. We'll also talk about feeding bees and hive inspections. You also get FREE MENTORING for two years from the Bee Great beekeepers!

Space is limited, so sign up today!

NOTE: Each purchase includes admission for 2 people, but only one hive starter kit. If you want a kit for each person, you'll need to make two purchases for the full price.

INTERMEDIATE BEEKEEPING CLASS

The intermediate beekeeping class will take place from 12:30pm-4:00pm March 15, 2025, at the Allen County Fairgrounds in Fort Wayne, IN. We will start with a free lunch.

Topics that will be covered include a calendar of beekeeping tasks throughout the year, spitting hives, harvesting honey, and extracting honey. We'll also cover honey bee diseases to be looking for, and we'll talk about dead-out hives. We will also discuss single hive brood chamber techniques.

NOTE: Each purchase includes admission for 1 person. There will be a 10% discount on all beekeeping supplies the day of the class for attendees.

Feb 24, 2024 Class

I really enjoyed the class. David was very knowledgeable and helpful at answering questions. Not pushy or insistent about buying products from him, which made you want to buy from/through him. I'm a bit nervous about starting out with this, but I'm confident he will answer any questions I might have. I can't wait to take the intermediate class next year! Thank you Bee Great!!

You'll do great, Robin! We had so much fun. Thanks for leaving a review, it means a lot to us. Thanks for supporting our mission to teach more people about bees and beekeeping and to help the honeybee! Honey saves hives!!!
