Step behind the scenes at Bee Great and experience how honey moves from the frame to the extractor during a private, hands-on family experience.
Your family or private group will work alongside Bee Great staff to uncap honey frames, operate the extracting equipment, and watch freshly harvested honey flow from the extractor.
You will also taste the honey you extracted alongside four or five additional honeys harvested from different locations across Northeast Indiana. This guided tasting offers a rare opportunity to compare how location and available forage can influence the color and flavor of honey.

This is a private experience. Your group will not be combined with another family or reservation.
What You Will Do
During the experience, participants may:
- Learn how harvested honey frames are prepared for extraction
- Uncap honey frames
- Help load and operate the extractor
- Watch freshly extracted honey flow from the equipment
- Taste the honey extracted during the appointment
- Compare four or five honeys harvested from other Northeast Indiana locations
- Ask questions about honey production, harvesting, and beekeeping

What Is Included

- One private appointment for your group
- Approximately one hour of guided, hands-on extraction
- Use of Bee Great’s extracting equipment
- A guided tasting of several Northeast Indiana honeys
Honey and other Bee Great products will be available for purchase in the boutique following the experience.
Important Information
- Please arrive at your reserved appointment time.
- Wear closed-toe shoes and clothing that can be easily washed.
- Children must remain with and be supervised by their accompanying adults.
- This experience takes place indoors in Bee Great’s honey-extraction area.
- Please tell Bee Great in advance about any accessibility needs or food allergies that could affect participation.
- THERE WILL BE SOME LIVE BEES IN THE EXTRACTING ROOM SOMETIMES. They are docile but getting stung is possible. There are also sharp instruments, hot instruments, and slippery and sticky floors. Hairnets (which we provide) or hats are required!
Because this experience is connected to Bee Great’s actual honey harvest, unexpected harvest conditions may occasionally require an appointment to be adjusted. If Bee Great must change an appointment, the purchaser will be offered another available time or a full refund.
