Our Warm-Spiced Honey Eggnog is rich, creamy, and perfectly spiced with nutmeg and cinnamon, letting the natural flavor of Bee Great honey shine through. Unlike traditional eggnog made with refined sugar, honey adds a deeper warmth and subtle floral notes that make every sip feel indulgent and comforting.
This recipe is wonderful served warm by the fire, chilled for holiday gatherings, or even gifted in small jars to friends and family. Ingredients
- 3 cups whole milk
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 4 large egg yolks
- ⅓ cup Bee Great Honey (see honey options below)
- 1 ½ tsp vanilla extract
- ½–1 tsp ground nutmeg (to taste)
- ¼ tsp cinnamon
- Pinch of salt
- Optional: ½–1 cup bourbon, spiced rum, or brandy
- Whipped cream + extra honey or nutmeg for serving

👨🍳 Instructions
1. Warm the milk + cream
In a medium saucepan, heat milk and heavy cream over medium heat until steaming. Do not boil.
2. Whisk yolks + honey
In a mixing bowl, whisk:
- 4 egg yolks
- ⅓ cup Bee Great honey
- Pinch of salt
Whisk until thickened and pale.
3. Temper the eggs
Slowly ladle about ½ cup of the warm milk mixture into the yolk bowl, whisking constantly.
Repeat with another ½ cup.
Then pour the tempered yolks back into the saucepan.
4. Cook until silky
Cook over medium-low heat, stirring constantly with a wooden spoon, until the mixture slightly thickens and coats the back of the spoon — about 3–5 minutes.
Do not let it boil or it may curdle.
5. Flavor it
Remove from heat and stir in:
- Vanilla
- Nutmeg
- Cinnamon
- Optional: bourbon, rum, or brandy
Adjust spices or sweetness to taste by stirring in a bit more honey.
6. Serve warm or chilled
This eggnog is incredible served warm, but also chills beautifully in the fridge.
Top with whipped cream, fresh nutmeg, or a drizzle of Bee Great honey.

If using your thicker honey spread:
- Use ¼ cup Honey Spread + 1 tbsp regular Bee Great honey
- Warm the honey spread gently in the milk during Step 1 so it melts fully
