Beekeeping Classes

BEGINNER BEEKEEPING CLASS: 

The beginner beekeeping class is designed for a crash course in beekeeping to decide if it's the right hobby for you. There is NO equipment and NO bees included. You must purchase all equipment and bees separately from this course. If you purchase equipment from us, you will have the option to purchase bees, and 2 years of FREE mentoring will be included.

We will cover parts of the hive, bee stings, recognizing types of honey bees in the hive and what they do, beekeeping tools, feeding bees, and hive inspections, and mite treatments. A calendar of beekeeping activities to complete throughout the year is also provided.

INTERMEDIATE BEEKEEPING CLASS:

The intermediate beekeeping class assumes you have been a beekeeper for at least one season. We will cover dead outs, mice, splitting hives, swarming, honey supers, extracting honey, mite treatment, feeding, and winterization.

HOW TO REGISTER:

Select the date and type of class you would like to attend from the dropdown menu. Each purchase is for one person. (So if you have 3 people attending, you need to order and pay for three seats please).

The beekeeping classes all take place at 1620 Broadway Street, Fort Wayne, IN 46802 in the new Union Street Market mezzanine at Electric Works. Directions and a map for parking will be shared via email about 1 week before the school.
